We have noticed in some Canvas courses that the People option is still available in the course navigation menu for students. A sample image is below. This option should be disabled for students. Otherwise they are able to see all of the students in that course and those that are identified as special education.
The Fix
To fix the issue, go to (1) Settings of the course, (2)click on the Navigation tab, (3) click and hold on the People menu tag and drag it to the bottom group within the Navigation window. (4) Not Shown – please be sure to click on the blue Save button at the bottom of the page for the changes to stick. Once this is done your students will no longer have access to the People option in the menu
